To all the cholesterol cops out there who love to hate on shrimp, do me a favor and settle down! Enjoy this shrimp taco salad instead.

The cholesterol in shrimp and other shellfish is unlikely to raise your blood cholesterol. The body is smart as funk, so when you consume cholesterol in shellfish it tips the liver off to produce less.

Additionally, these tasty ocean vittles have impressive amounts of key minerals like selenium and iodine. Selenium is big for brain function. Iodine plays a key role in muscle health, brain function, and thyroid health. Shrimp is also a jackpot of protein for those muscle gains you're working on.

Local or wild sourced shrimp are ideal. Like anything else, you should consume shrimp responsibly. Bottom line is, cholesterol cops can stop bullying shrimp for no good reason.

Recipe:

Coleslaw 1/2 head large cabbage, 1 cup full fat sour cream, 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar, squeeze of fresh lime, 2 tablespoons avocado oil, 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro, 1 chopped avocado, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.

Shrimp 12-15 shelled and deveined shrimp, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon paprika, salt, and pepper. Melt butter in pain and sauté all other ingredients until shrimp are cooked and tender.

Pico De Gallo 1 tomato diced, 1/2 an onion diced, 1/2 cup cilantro chopped, 1 fresh jalapeño diced (if prefer), squeeze of fresh lime juice, salt, and pepper.

Serve all together as a salad or with fresh corn tortillas on the side.
